Tierly — Volume Discounts · Last updated:
This policy explains what data the Tierly app ("Tierly", "we") accesses and stores when you install it on your Shopify store, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR and similar regulations.
What we access and store
When you install Tierly, Shopify provides us with a session record needed to operate the app: your store domain and an access token. We read and write your store's discounts (the campaigns you create), read your products and collections to show offers on the right products, and read your published theme only to check whether the Tierly widget is turned on. We also store your store's account email and contact email, and basic store details (store and owner name, country, city, currency, Shopify plan and how you found Tierly), so we can contact you about Tierly; a record of how you use the app (screens opened, campaigns saved, plan chosen, installs and uninstalls); error and diagnostic records; and any support messages you send us.
To power the in-app Analytics, Tierly has access to your store's orders (the read_orders scope, which covers the last 60 days). We store each order placed while Tierly is installed, and may also load orders from up to 60 days before. For each order we store the order ID and number, date, currency, subtotal, the discount amount Tierly applied and which Tierly campaign applied, plus its line items (product, variant, title, quantity and price). We do not store any customer information from orders.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect or store your customers' personal information: no names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, IP addresses, or device or browser data. The permissions Tierly requests give it access to order data that includes some of these details, which is why our App Store listing mentions buyer device data and store-owner details; Tierly does not store any buyer data, and of the store-owner details it stores only the name and emails described above. We do not build customer profiles, track customers, or use any data for advertising. The discount itself is calculated at checkout by a Shopify Function running on Shopify's infrastructure.
How we use it
We use this data to run the app, show you analytics, answer your support requests, and contact you about Tierly. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers we need to operate Tierly: Railway (hosting), Google (email delivery), Anthropic (AI assistance drafting messages to you) and Telegram (internal notifications when you message support).
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while the app is installed. When you uninstall Tierly, we delete your session immediately. Shopify sends us a shop/redact request 48 hours after uninstall, and we then erase all remaining data for your store from all our systems. We keep only an anonymous record that does not identify your store: install and uninstall dates, plan, days of use, sales totals, and an anonymized timeline of app activity. To recognize your store if it reinstalls within 90 days, we also keep a one-way code derived from your store ID with a secret key; it is deleted automatically after 90 days. When Shopify sends a customers/redact request, we delete the order records linked to that customer.
Your GDPR rights
You can request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time. We do not store direct customer identifiers; the only customer-linkable data we hold is order records, keyed by order ID. In response to a customers/data_request, we provide that customer's order, line-item and attribution records; in response to a customers/redact, we delete them. For store-level data, contact us and we will respond within the timelines required by law.
